The 11:35 initiative

The 11:35 initiative

In John 11:35 in the Bible, we read of Jesus mourning the loss of a close friend. When I was a hospice chaplain, I often shared this verse with grieving families. If Jesus can express tears for a loss, then so can we. Regardless of your personal faith journey, we can all draw encouragement from this story. From the greatest, to the least, we all experience loss and grief.

August 30 is Grief Awareness Day. In honor of those who have lost someone, or in honor of someone we have lost, we are seeking 1135 contributions of $10 or more between June 1 and August 30. We also ask you to consider becoming a regular contributor.

To contribute, click on the “Give Today” tab or send a check to the address listed below. Together we can empower others in their struggle with grief.
